Eating out ....

Here's the comment I read in one site… "I have been eating like its going out of fashion for the past week.”
Thought it to be funny… sharing it :)

Today at office we had been to a collegues send off lunch today... Lunch was a buffet at new place called Red Bean near office...

The way I was piling up stuff on my plate, I was thinking how correct the above statement seems from my perspective... Dunno what my collegues thought but they too were piling up the same way.. :D

For more survival tips on how to eat in a buffet check out here. :)

Today's fortune: Try and fail, but don't fail to try

Nice to read but difficult to implement.... I so need to prep up my trying esp in professional and yes also personal front...

Key here is : Don't fail to try...
Have to remember that..

Smile to light up ur life

Today, I realised how profound the statement is ..
" A smile can light up the face "..
After a long time met up someone and smile perked up everything she said to me ...
Atleast brought out the positives in life and allowed me to refocuss on
"God's in his Heaven n All's right with the world!"
Things will work out.....i.e eventually ..

Best Things Done..... :)

Drawing inspiration from Kiran's post here ... I too thought of penning the best things dear husband has done for me (till now )...

Dear Husband…….

The Five Best Things Dear Husband has done for me

1) Married Me :D….Taken the load of my father ‘s chest …. :)
2) He really show small gestures which bring out the greatest love he has ..though he won’t verbalize the love part… it is implied :)..Waking me up at 2.00 in the night so that I can take the fever medicine for the sudden fever I have developed. In addition rubbing my back when back is hurting on account of fever…Plus some random day night when I groggily awoke crying disoriented with a muscle pull, massaged the leg back by the time I realized what the problem was.
3) Patiently listening with a zen like calm to my ranting, grumblings and verbalizing of stuff which has caused irritation , anger etc and which has churned itself into a major melting pot of venting out. Of course sometimes I mis-understand this calm as not able to empathize with my point of view.
4) Does some of the stuff un asked. … If the maid has taken an impromptu off and there is a bucket full of clothes majorly mine which has been already soaked, then will not hesitate to wash them. Broom the cobwebs away at corners of the room where my bulk and height will never reach. Of course sometimes I have to ask to wipe the microwave..( I leave it with more stains)
5) Doesn’t mind the old hag look I take when I am at home in “maxi”…Reminds me to put cream and take medicines if any.. It is another issue that I don’t do it if I am too tired.

In addition to these , these are some other best things to be added …. :)

6) Taken me to lovely places and different places for shopping or for eating .. :) Be it finding out about where FabIndia exists (which earlier with friends was not able to go to) or trying Barbecue Nation or Yoko’s… Or searching for a CASIO battery replacement shop in ABIDs area. Although some more exists in the To Do List…like going to Golconda, visiting the main office campus along with me(before it is closed down), visiting Bawarchi, buying pearls and hyderabadi kundan work sarees, etc etc
7) Likes to humour my suggestions and whims especially like going out to a Thali place which is not that great or taking my suggestion of Dhola ri dhani which we went with friends which turned out ok..
8) Tolerates my shopping especially grocery shopping whims especially when not feeling well and accompanying me to shop random grocery…
9) Takes care of House Owner interface , Gas booking and follow up with Fridge repair where I would have seriously sucked..
10) Brings out the humane perspective especially in dealing with maid, etc. :)
11) Really gets thoughtful gifts i.e be it splurge on Crossword or a wonderful and tasteful ring.

For future references, watch the space :D…

Warm regards,
Wife :)

Pattiwalii chai .......

Subject: Pattiwalii chai .......

Yippppeeee …. !!!!!!

Pattiwalii chai has come to our cafeteria……almost after a year ….
Which means we are free of vending machine ‘chai’…

Which also means that for that mandatory cuppa in afternoons we don’t have to trudge down to roadside tapri at 40 degrees from a 25 degrees temp in office AC and trudge back.
Hope fully we won’t fall ill :)

Plus flavors bhi hai … elaichi aur ginger toh dekha aaj….

It is a different thing kii kab tak yeh karishma rehega and chai kitna aur dilute hoga…… :)

But for now ……chai is just at crawling distance woh bhi patti waaliii :):)

Njoiiing the afternoon cuppa..

Wats a Carrier ?

What does the word “carrier” indicate ?
I used to think that I had a fairly good idea of English Language. But nothing prepared me for the different meanings a simple word can construe.
A colleague and me were walking from an evening dose of ‘chai’.
That was a time period when people of another company were leaving from their morning shift.
As we were walking, my colleague mentioned “ So many carriers in this building?”
For a split second I did not really get it as to what was the main subject.
For me, carrier implied a vessel or more like the ‘dabba’ you get as your lunch box.
Or somebody sitting on the pillion carrier of a two wheeler. But as far as I could see there were just lots of people walking down to the gate.
I know that wiki has lots of meanings for carrier.
But I was seriously stumped that what could possibly be this ‘carrier’.
Then realization dawned and what she was referring was that there are lots of pregnant ladies or rather expectant mothers among the lot who had left for the day.
Too much I say …

Weekend Thrills :)

From: Tina

Subject: Weekend Thrills :)

It has been quite a few days since I rambled :) or weeks rather…

After a well deserved though unexpected break home, it is back to the old grind..
Last weekend(Independence weekend) we were at home .
Though it was a long weekend it was not exactly planned with V struggling to book us tickets to get back and finally getting something via Tatkal.
Remembered one of my friends comments saying that before even before we embark on a journey, we worry about the tickets to get back.

:) Yup with no extended holidays ..I guess that’s how it is …
Regrets though in not being able to meet any of you.

Gud to see amche P after quite a while …With the temperatures dipped and rains around the corner.

It is nice to romanticize the weather when you are visiting only for the weekend, as compared to living it out there.
Especially since rains had disrupted the general routine in P just the weekend prior to this one.

For us it was a different ball game as both our Sasar(in-laws place) and Maher(parents place) is the same.
So whatever time we had seemed real short.

I miss P mornings with the slight chill and dip in temperature irrespective of the season it is…

I guess for both of us it was gud to eat food not cooked by me :).. Some authentic variants cooked up in the traditional style.
Attended a couple of functions including an impromptu birthday celebrations. For once V and I managed to be home for at least someone’s birthday…
Generally we used to end up wishing via phone.

And before we knew it , it was time to come back.
The train reached early morning and going back to office was seriously a pain …especially with me feeling extra sleep deprived.

Why is it when you want to leave office early especially after a journey, that you end up staying in office for long?
Neways it took a couple of days for us to orient back to Hyd tehzeeb.

And for V it was back to my short cut cooking after a few days of authentic stuff..

It seemed like over the weekend I lost touch of how to cook. So it was getting myself reacquainted with the vessels. :)

Tina :)

Everyday Hurdles !!!!

From: Tina_Thomas
Sent: Friday, July 11, 2008 5:42 PM
Subject: Everyday Hurdles !!!!

It seems like Mr Murphy law is coming true for us the past few days… It is not that my bread is falling on the buttered side but still it is holding true for me.

Murphy's law is an adage in Western culture that broadly states "if anything can go wrong, it will." It is also cited as: "If there's more than one possible outcome of a job or task, and one of those outcomes will result in disaster or an undesirable consequence, then somebody will do it that way"; "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong"; or, "Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time, in the worst possible way".

Why is it that whenever one is late from office that all things go wrong.. I mean not wrong or a disaster in the strict sense of the word.
Instead of beating round the bush let me get straight to the point or rather Murphy point :)

For the past few days, we never the train on time :) . I mean we leave office in order to catch the right train but somehow in order to send some update or mail back, we generally leave at the last minute.

That’s when generally all things do not work out as per general scheme of things.

For starters till we reach the bus stop or the junction (chowk) there will be no sign of “share auto”

“Share Auto” will put our Chennai auto rides to shame. It is the same three-seater rickshaw but in front at least 4(inclusive of driver) male members somehow squeeze in…
And behind at least three to four females. I guess diesel prices are having their effect.

If it is the bigger variant of the three seater(mind you not the six seater). i.e same as the pix above but the back side is not enclosed. So in the back also has open space to carry luggage etc, if the hatch is opened. So the more enterprising sit behind with legs dangling..
For some reasons I have not garnered enough courage and hence I have never sat that way.
But I have seen people enjoying that kind of seating, of course with the company id card in prominent display :)
So if it is that kind of rickshaw then at least three people are expected there too.

For some reason when I used to say “rickshaw” friends here used to wonder what am I speaking about as that was what we used back in Pune.
So here if I am referring to the three seater above , I have to say “auto” :) . So much for trivia.

So let me come back to my story…

In case if at all we do get the “Share auto” , either it will be too empty or too filled. Murphy’s Law starting to work..

Drawbacks of

· Too empty means only 2-3 ppl, so the driver will look and turn the auto at every individual remotely waiting.. maybe for bus, friend or just standing.
In the effort to get the desired no of candidates, there will frequent slowing asking them to enter the auto to go to destination.
· Too full means he will have his auto full but driver will drive slow and frequent stops.

Yesterday’s fellow for some reason was going so slow that I felt if we get down and push the auto probably we would reach faster.

By the time we come to the chowk, there will be 10 mins till train timing.
And then in his own sweet time with multiple stops he will drive to the station.

Luckily he will reach the station, roughly 2 mins before the train timing. Yesterday was better as he at least left us near the station entrance as opposed to the road entrance.
If dropped at road entrance it would mean another minute gone sprinting down till station entrance.

So if all is fine then we will reach the station entrance which opens to Platform 1 at the nick of time and train will be coming at luckily Platform 1.

But Mr Murphy has been having few different ideas since past few days, hence as soon as we reach Platform No 1 there will be an announcement if we are lucky or we see the local come to Platform No 6.

So with absolutely no time to spare and the next local being there after an hour, we have nothing best to do but sprint towards the train at the other end of the station at Platform 6.
Now don’t get me wrong, sprint not towards the over bridge… No time for that…
That’s what I mean by hurdles J Run across directly from Platform 1 to Platform 6. Fortunately the platforms are not barred and separated.

But the height of the platform is amazing… So down – jump – climb – run scenario goes on till we reach the 6th platform ….and finally run towards the train.
By the time we manage to get into the same, we are totally out of breath and heave a huge sigh of relief that at least we have not missed the train.
Seriously should get a bit fit as portly me looks real funny with this hurdles race.

But if you feel that I should in fact, try to go early then Bhaiyoon aur beheno have tried that too….
Then it is opposite.. Few days back we reached the station early with 10 mins to spare but guess what the train was about 40 mins late…

That’s why I said Mr Murphy having some problem with me :)

Njoiiiing everyday hurdles…

Cya,

Tina :)

Morning Musings :)

From: Tina

Subject: Morning Musings :)

For the life of me, I cannot understand how people can travel in bus especially Volvo where all windows are closed and jam packed.….
I prefer trains..especially the part where the wind drives all over you and fails to leave your hair in single piece..
The icing of the cake is if you get window seat…then you can allow your thoughts to run wild while also looking at the scenery.

Today fortunately at least after half an hour was able to rest on a window seat and let my thoughts run lose.
That’s one of the reasons I prefer going by local trains… You can be in autopilot :D

You really appreciate the amount of rocks hi-tech has…and they are really big big boulders :)
And in the midst of all that barrenness you find civilization taking roots …with new buildings complexes …Especially since IT is a buzzword…

But you find the trees and gardens reducing so much so that while walking outside you have a distinct impression that you are traversing via dessert..

So it was really surprising that in all that barrenness I saw a pond or rather some slush water..It all happened in split second …
In all that barrenness what really caught my eye was the presence of white/creamy lotus flowers….
Unexpected to actually see them there… Reminded me of the days long gone in our childhood when trip to grandparents allowed us such visuals..

But they use lotus as a metaphor saying that it’s roots grows in slush or marshy areas but the flower the soul or essence goes above all the slush to reach the skies where it remains pure and untouched (they did not know about air pollution then )…

It was surprising how a chance single second scene can really make a difference in your day :D

Ciao

Hope you can use this metaphor to rise to the occasion :)

Have a gr8 week ahead.

Warm Regards,
Tina :)

Kismis.. :)

Subject: Kismis.. :)
Bleary eyed was eying at the tasks to be done before leaving for wrk....
Maid had just made an entry and told something in telegu....
Normal conversation with maid goes something like this...

Maid : Telegu ...telegu ........bhabhi .....telegu....
Me : Ok ...Telegu radu (dunnot know telegu )
Maid : Phenyl telegu...telegu
Me : Phenyl khatam ho gaya ? Will be able to get only on weekend...Saturday....chalega
Maid : nods.
So after such attempts at communicating generally i am quiet thinking why to unnecessarily trouble her and myself....

Another day her conversation went...
Maid : Bhabhi ...hindi...
Me : Haan Hindi aatee
Maid : Telegu ?
Me : Little little..Koncham Koncham .(Actually know only Telegu Radu..)
Maid : Bhaiya telegu...
Me : Bhaiya telegu radu...(Now how to tell i knw atleast telegu radu , bhaiya does not know that too )
Maid : Kya bhabhi telegu telegu ( in a gist i guess...god knows how we will communicate)
So after a week of such conversation or rather no conversation

I braved and just attempted some more small talk...
Me : So baachee kaise? (thoda actions ke saath)
Maid : Telegu baache school etc etc telegu telegu
Me : Ohh Ok... (smiled sweetly)

Me gave up on small talk and went about with something in kitchen.

Maid : Bhabhi kismis hai ...
Me : (thinking - Gas connection bhi nahi hai ....She want to cook or what...No dry fruits also...Then dry fruits mein kismis se some cleaning. ohh maybe for kids) Kismis....Kismis kyun chahiye?
Maid : Nahi bhabhi....kismis telegu .telegu
Me : Kismis khane waala ...Pakane ke liye chahiye ?
Maid : Radu bhabhi ..kismis kismis....telegu telegu telegu..
Me : (Totally clueless)....kismis par weekend ko hii laa payenge ,....
Maid : radu bhabhi..

Both of us are looking at each other for communication gap...Almost at verge of giving up then realization dawned upon me...
Ekdum cartoon character zaise bulb jala siir ke uppar :)

Me : CHRISTMAS .......Ohh ...Aap Christmas ke baarein mein pooch rahein ho ...
Maid : (thousand watt smile) haaa bhabhi
Poor thing was trying some conversation at her level too...
Me : Haa hain naa....(gave a brief description of x'mas)

Then we slipped back to oblivion ..i.e back to silence....
I guess we will take some more time to discuss abt "new year" or for that matter any other festival....but that will be another story...
Till then see ya and keep mailing

Take care

Being Engaged ;)

Subject: Being Engaged ;)

One of my friends asked that so do you feel engaged? I said yes ..Now slowly slowly i do feel engaged or committed.

On asking what exactly prompted the feeling ....i thought little bit abt it and then thought will better frame the answer in a mail.

Here are the reasons which include a bit on the wackier side :D

-- Of course phone bills increase and if you have pre paid then monthly bank statement seems like only prepaid recharges.

-- Guessing game starts whether whose SMS it is.

-- Everyone starts asking you are you all set for the 'D' Day.

-- ' What ur still doing in office ? ' or ' When are you going ?' As if ppl have nothing better than getting rid of me .

-- People are wondering whether you changed Orkut profile so as not to mislead others and if you have not changed then they want to know when you would.

-- All friends stop communication like as though you are hot potato... Like as though you are continuously on phone with ur would be better half. Thanks for the consideration :)

-- Casually ppl mention now you are going away from group or ur have already stopped communicating to the group. This esp after u have written a huge mail. And to top it all the explanation is 'It is expected that you would now that you are engaged.'

This was a mail which i almost did not send. but hope it makes out esp inspite of the mail sending restrictions ;)

Take care

Regards,
Tina :)

P.S : Ppl in cc will not get this mail ... If it can be reforwarded by some one that would be gr8 ..Thanks.

First Snow.......

Today Jan 18th I actually felt snow...as in real life :)
All this while in movies where you could just imagine how it is to snow.
The experience was different if you could say exhilarating ....
While coming to US it would have been in one of my wishlists....

Though with no sign in Nov or Dec, when H and Y were saying abt how it would be lovely to have white x'mas......I thought it would be one of the things I would not be destined to see much less feel it....

Of course there have been many false alarms and that kinda had me feeling that obviously i would not be able to see it.

It all started yesterday..By the looks of it, it was gloomy and looked like it would rain terribly...
But the had put a lot of salt in the parking lot...
Thats when Y mentioned that they do that when ever there is an impending snow forecast..I was like let it atleast snow...else all this is just false preparation...
But the temp was dipping and we were on our way back from lunch...when wisps of snow was falling...

I thought it was raindroplets falling as they were few and far between and b4 touching the car glass it would be water...

So i thought that it was just some raindrops
Thats when they said.."Looks like Tina will be able to see some snow"
I was like they call this water snow...
It was so tiny that it looked more like dandruff( for the want of a better word)

With pictures of what snow looked like in my science class text books i was surely on the verge of disappointment when Y mentioned that internally snow flake did look like that ..

But it looked gloomy and it really did look like there would be a thundershower...
One we got back to the office and into our cubes, it was as good as being locked somewhere..

Thats when I saw ppl gathering near the windows...it looked like heavy rainfall but it was actually snowing those tiny wisps.

Thought of going downstairs in the open to see or rather feel the snow..but we had a meeting..

The conference room is at the edge of the floor where except for the entrance all other sides are glass windowed.. So as the meeting progressed it was good to see snow falling with snow almost as big as hailstones....it was nice though it did melt by the time it reached the ground.
For quite some time all of us were looking at the snow...
By the time the meeting was over the snow was over and the ground looked more like it had rained....
On my way back it did not snow at all and that was the last forecast for the day.. I was like ohh no ...

Today I almost overslept..(i did actually) and groggily when I got up and saw outside it was white...Just like in Home Alone :D.. Cars were covered and evergreens also.. I was wide awake before convincing myself that it was after all now a dream. On my way to work slowly treading the ground...as you could have a good slippery fall on the snow esp when my sport shoes did not have any grip :(

It was sunny and all the white snow though just a cm layer... It was amazing view and for once in my life I regretted that I do not have a camera...Phone camera is real blurred.

Neways hunted up the internet for equivalent pictures so that you could also see what I saw.. Hopefully I could fill you in with real pictures.

As I was walking the snow layer used to crumble. It was at the station that temptation got better of me. Removed by hand from the glove and touched snow.. It just crumbled n it was cold you know. But it was so nice and flaky... And so guys n gals First Snow is here ....

I am not disappointed though I still have to stand while the snow is falling just like in movies :D

Felt like sharing the feeling with all of you esp since ppl I called up to tell were not around... :D

So now i guess it is one of the wishlist items which has been checked (as in a tick mark)..........
Here to more items to be ticked ............

Cheers,
Tina :)

Singles getting extinct .????

This is a post I have been thinking of writing....wht prompted me to write it....

Lets see...

Two of my very good friends got married on Saturday...Me being here missed all the fun.
Most of my friends on orkut are putting up double photos meaning couple waale...

Most of my batchmates guys including hav got married or commited...(commited mane booked :) ) Of course there is another set who are putting kids photos...

Fortunately my school friends and some of my college friends are remaining in the same boat as me :)

In Office all are married else fianced....

what happened to the singles movement....I wonder?

Its nice to knw ur friends status is changing if not VISA status, nice to see the snaps whether it is them alone or with spouse or with kids....
But somewhere wistfully you look and feel where are ppl like us.

Among the gang the rush of knowing a close friend getting married is amazing and best still is attending the wedding. Given the different regional friends its nice to attend different types of wedding.

Greater is the amazement when you know of some of your friends with kids.. It is a very pleasing and fun feeling to knw that a key to the next generation is in their hands....
( Of course that does move you to Bhai jee and Behen jee or Uncle-Aunty Level.)

Though I guess i wrote this feelingly because of my inability to attend the weddings...But i think it is nice to get or rather give some reassurance to my still single friends..

Bhaiiyon - Beheno our tribe is not extinct yet :D

Neways still on a lookout kii ab kiska number next aayega...

Rgds.................

A Haatke weekend :)

From: Tina Sent: Monday, April 10, 2006
Subject: A Haatke weekend :)

The players :)

Guys : Vinayak,Prashant,Suraj,Vinay,Dipu,Vijay,-----Manoj,Santosh(Partly)
Gals : Minal,Shri, Hema and me.

As days go close of parting hues….
We try to do give everyone their dues….

In such a way that we are left with more number of things to be done together than the time which we have to spend together….

I guess that is what happened this weekend….

Ever notice that when u are conscious of the fact that u want to closely keep the time with you in wrap of ur hand it is like sand in closed fist….it spills out….
And when u pass thru time breezily … like holding sand in ur open palms …it stays intact…..

Too much of philosophy :)

With the public in hyd decidedly getting smaller and smaller each weekend is spent in trying to keep the time spend together to cherish memories when all this will not be possible….

This weekend was haatke in that respect…..it was as though tried to compress a couple or more weekends together…. :):)

It all started (as always in hyd) in the afternoon ;)…….
Dipu had cum back to hyd for his first visit as friend to hyd frm pune…..

I guess he came early by the morning bus and the brunt of his arrival was faced by his roomies I suppose (who were up late the night before )

As usual it was decided that we will meet for lunch…..
Where as usual inspite of all the precautions girls party reached just in time (according to them ) and way after time(according to guys )

Had dhaba type khaana in the spl AC room of the restaurant coz I guess the general restaurant was full with a bunch of people who were constantly chattering away to glory :)

In order to be heard above them we moved to the AC part of the restaurant where I guess the AC was just a blower…..

In the amazing Hyd heat (abhi toh humidity bhi aa gayee hain :( ) we all had more water than food I guess (reminded of the pre acclimatized to Chennai days )

Then uske baad kya…. Waiting for Santosh and minal to join us… par itna timepass karenge kaha….

Toh chalo movie ….the movie in pipeline was 3.45 kiii banaras in skyline….toh zip zap zoomed to Benaras (in rick ok )

In theatre not much of a crowd.. thought kii maybe there will be no tickets…

The ladies(shri, hema and me) went forward and took the tkts …gr8 for us that tkts were available…..

Proceeded to balcony of Sterling ….

No numbers in tkt so proceeded to seat ourselves accordingly …..
Placed ourselves in front of blower as it was better than the non existent AC :)

A lot of rap or rock was being played in background then we were as usual waiting for trailers

:(:( unfortunately none came… not even RS Brothers(Saree waala Telegu ad) ..directly movie….

Came to know that the most famous crooner himesh reshmaniya is the music director of the movie….. I was bracing myself for the torturous music

When Vinayak and others in his memory crooned ooooohnnnnnnn ohnnnnnnnnn khajooorrrr ……

This was followed by guys looking at the tri ladies (one with kid) who were placed further below us…:) and also manoj and vinayak ka running between the seats….not for them baba… aise hiii

The movie was followed without a hitch with most of us getting a headache by the interval… after interval was fairly decent and gratefully all the songs were sung by sonu except for one by all of our fav crooner :) (bkground mein tha) for which manoj and I were debating what is the case.

Phir ghar gayein then thought we will meet all in EAT street… Humare ghar chai peeke we went ahead or rather first guys went ahead to EAT STREET and then girls came behind as usual LATE according to guys but actually we were stuck in horrible traffic

After a customary argument with rickshaw waaala on the fare we reached EAT STREET where Sania mania was gng on ..there was a sort of karoke gng on where most of the singers were playing nasal tribute to the fav music director I guess…..

We then sang for vinay assuming that it is his birthday(which was not the case) so loudly that it attracted the host and she announced loudly to wish Vinay for his birthday …:) we all joined in by singing loudly Happy Birthday with the person who was singing on mike….

Had reminiscent talks in the lawn next to eat street…after which the talks continued in the boys ka ghar with parcels of food :) deadly hungry by then ….

Following which we all went home and grabbed a few hours ka sleep…..(really few hours :( )
Sunday dawned by afternoon…… :)
We got together for having food at gujrati cum rajasthani cum maharashtra mandal where we were joined by inbatch satyam couple :)

Yes u guessed it right the OZEs :) gr8 to see them after a long time…..after that wanted to go bowling but the place near clock tower was under renovation

Thought instead of roaming in hot sun we will just go to the boys house and atleast see sum movie and drink cold water (unke paas fridge hain )

By then vinay found out that ameerpet one is open so remaining people zoomed into ameerpet (bikes ke itne hii log ho gayein hain)..

Played bowling and had lot of fun esp coz when wanted the ball used to go by the sides without displacing a single bowling pin LL

Winners of the evening were Vinay and Vinayak ……

Finished the bowling and which was followed by trying a few remaining games while prashant and I went for sania mania T shirts which unfortunately after a long wait at lifestyle where we browsed cds ,cassette, clothes and discussed the pricing of iPods and mobiles…. No sania mania Tshits :(:(

Finally each of us went home so that we would reach near Yatri Niwas for Dipu’s Bus to Pune….

After which we planned of gng to Hi Tech for Santosh’s famed Malaysian Penang Soup at Wang’s Kitchen…Santosh ke gaon ka restaurant…. :)
The girls finally reached Yatri Niwas just in time with a minor heart attack that the Dipu’s bus had left as just before reaching an APSRTC bus had left…..

Gr8 that it had not left till then ..after all the bye byes Dipu ‘s bus finally took off….
When we thought that we are anyways gng to hi tech toh might as well go with the bus….

So all of us …zoomed with the bikes as if Dipu’s bus was the ministers car and we were the convoy :)

Finally bade him good bye and proceeded to the drive to Hi tech with a couple of film songs thrown in (without music though). Tried to remember a few but saarein words nahi yaad aayein

The drive was really good when finally we zoomed in to The restaurant…...

Sab bol rahein thee kii waha hain restaurant and I am like upper kahi board to nahi dikh raha hain phir dekha toh basement mein thaa :)
Santosh had already made reservations for us … but minal and I went and asked the person there for a place for 10 ppl and he was at loss to se that how we cud be accomadated esp when many places there were placards of Reserved…. Then Santosh with his late entry style came up and told that person there is a reservation of Santosh Satyam :):) making our popat esp with that guy telling I had asked u all earlier…..

The food was gr8 and we all njoiied it (courtesy Santosh) and even Prashant was happy with his American Cho suey :) (that’s a major achievement J…hai naa praashant)

Then it was decided kii either critically acclaimed CRASH movie or drive in Hitech as there were 5 bikes….

Went for the CRASH though…and again all of us zoomed to PVR where minal and I dashed for tkts but our hopes of seeing CRASH crashed as all the tkts were sold out….:(
But no probs Njoiied the drive frm hitech to PVR in under 10-15 mins…..

And amazingly our weekend came to a close……
It was a different weekend with many of us actually knowing abt others and their perceptions…
And we will cherish the weekend for not just the bike rides but also for a lot of interactions we all had….

Also were missed the 3 ppl in hyd who cud not have made it because of the total unpredicatability…… (mr and mrs oze and pankaj)

For all the sentimental fool I am … here was the gist of the weekend to pass sum magic(hypothetically) we all felt … so that you all cud all partake in it :)

For all the nawabi tehzeeb we have here in hyd….wht we did this weekend was nothing extra ordinary but very plain just I guess maybe emphasized by the fact that there very few of us remaining….

Hope u all njoied the long Gist :)
Keep mailing

Tina :)
P.S : All the feelings and imagery is mine alone …take it with a pinch of salt….. :)

Amazing...frustration at its peak....

How more can frustration get……………
How is it that that word combines a lot of what we feel
At present I am feeling pretty lousy so I guess that is being seen in the prose…..
I guess no … no … I am sure we are foolish or rather I am definitely foolish…….
.
.
.
.
..
.
Still no clue eh ….. ?
;
;
;
;

J

I am feeling pretty lousy but yet I can smile wryly though

Why did we come packaged with the thought that we should work efficiently
Work in such a way so as to motivate ourselves …
Work to sum way satisfy the craving (if at all) we have for work……
Be dependable...
Be unbiased in terms of work…
Grab the work in such a way as though we have never worked earlier…..

Work with no motivation ….
Work with absolutely no way to do justice
Work that just zappps urself…..

It is that or the fact that I am foolish…..

Why is it ingrained that we should work for our satisfaction not for showing others?
Why is it ingrained that we should be foolish to work in this way that we get satisfaction though not the money?

My vocabulary is falling short I guess…..
I want the frustration to create a literary master piece and nonsense it is as terrible as ever…..

Feel even worse at having spoken my mind to sumone.

Feel frustrated yaar….. and I guess wonder why did I ever start wrking first place….

I should have stayed at home….
Gone to sum call center (our timings are like that only)

Still the same ingrained feeling that you did engineering to go there????
Why why ???

Or gr8 should have gone into Home Science or sumthing….
Atleast I would be good with belan…..
Or better should have studied till 12th only….
Would have got some work to do with hands that could do justice to the ingrained notions above….
Should have started sum gardening or pottery or sumthing….

Best should have done sum sewing or knitting
Gr8 amazing way to work…..

I guess I am really irritated that the thoughts i had never thought are just coming…..
I think I should seriously contemplate on the above……
Not too late I guess…….
Just wasted 2 years in Junior college and another 4 years in Engg… and greater part of two years working with all the motivation that now I have just none.

Absolutely great way to spend wallowing in Frustration at the start of the week…..

AMAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZING

Hehehhehehehehe ( imagine ZEE HORROR SHOW laugh )

Penning the ideas

how is it that when ur not in front of ur comp or having a pen by ur side that u can think of a lot of thoughts and feelings....

the ideas just flow past u....

And when u do sit down to write it is like a blank slate....
Can't fill in inspite of the fact that at times one is brimming with a lot of ideas.....

sumtimes though like an anticlimax when ur typing .... u have so many ideas that typing seems real slow.....

Also ever notice that sumtimes with just a few words one can correctly get the whole picture in mind ...
and sumtimes no matter how much u write u cannot grab the essence at all.

Am i an owl or what......

The most common misconception is of wrking late is that one is wrking for a Call Center or a BPO. When after a long and hectic :) day(or rather evening ) in front of the comp, sumtimes late nights when some client call is scheduled at ungodly time..... I send out my Good Morning Mails..... to all my friends and collegues..

Of course not to show that i am working late...but it is just that i like the idea of ppl cuming and reading my mail first...

Technically at 2 or 3 a.m it is right time to say 'Good Morning' but it is too dark outside to feel so though....

Most of my friends have now got an impression that i am after all working for some Call Center (though I am in a pure development proj) Handling calls at night.. Now that ... you see I am handling client calls at that time but time and again it is for some code pushing to production or sumthing like that.....

And I am not working for a call center....(though development teams seldom do wait late)

But then i do stay late hours.... i used to never late nights even to study for any exams or tests....
The only time i remember doing night out was to watch sum movie which was scheduled by our good old DD(national TV channel) at ungodly hour....

There was a time and project when i used to (still do) like working mornings... basically am an early morning person... think that most of the productive work happens in the mornings when one i fresh...

Now I guess focus is on just getting sum work done work late....
My team mates blasting music at one corner... Another team discussing the happenings in their project.... (sum are like me working late and sum are not like me and working for prod support 24*7)

Most of us have seen offices by morning.. but here too at night sumtimes ppl working under the artificial white lights give the impression that ppl are wrking in the late evening... it is only when u glance at the time that u realize that 'ohh it is after midnight' .....

'Early to bed early to rise, Makes a man healthy wealthy and wise'....

who knows whether framing this as
Late to bed, Late to rise, Makes a man unhealthy, maybe wealthy and sleepy

Makes more sense for all the night owls.....

Most of the working late is because of co-ordinating with the onsite and that could be anywhere on the face of the earth....

In the H.G.Wells book, Time is described as the fourth dimension...Hope this dimension does not add up and we wud be co-ordinating sumwhere with space too.....

But sumtimes it is fun to wrk late... it is kind of relaxing and offbeat......
Sumtimes it brings out the passion in getting the work done .....

Though i don't think it is enjoyable and healthy in the long term....

But till it lasts..... Lets njoii being a night owl......... :)

Cheerio,
The Night owl(only on weekdays)

writer's block or blogger's block

now a days have got a new passion that is apart reading books and watching movies.....
it is reading blogs... like the fact that there are many out there having thoughts that seems like carbon copies of mine floating online....

so all the adrenaline rushing finally after quite a few reads felt why not have my own blog...
i do like to write sumtimes on and off... i do mail my musings to a select group of friends(poor ppl!!! ).... then thought i why not subject the torture to a few more ....

finally decided... took my first step towards blogging...

there came the first hurdle... what shud i name the blog... my name being fairly common.... cannot use that....

wanted sumthing which will attract sum attention but not a lot... sumthing that will be fairly common for friends to remember when the type online...

i used to think that i knw quite a few synonyms.... but there the webpage is asking me to write a name for ur blog and there i am blank .....

I can get names only with @ or by and all the names seem so clumsy and not elegant....

finally decide to write and at the very first mini step this....

spent good 5 mins deciding shud i get sum name frm old english... shud i use two adjectives...
and for the next five mins was wondering why i did not have an unpronuncable surname atleast that way my name wud hav been unique .....

then i thought better still write a diary... no bother of naming it.... but i knw i will write a page and leave it....

no no ...

i must write ahead... atleast online.... atleast one post....

good few mins later no headway... then thought forget whatever just write that....

then thought of leisurelymusings ... ah wht a sound and effect...
but who wud remember the continuous spelling... more chances of mistake....

how abt randommusings .... fairly same effect...
but wht if sumone misses the double 'm' ....

This is getting me nowhere.... thats it... i can continue till the end of the day with this stuff...

4get it i am lazy but not to the extent of not thinking up a name.

ok decided on a simple no nonsense name - tina2blog
atleast it makes up for the lack of complicated surname

finally made sum headway….

hope this adrenaline rush keeps up and i do more than one post J
atleast i won’t have to write every day like i wud have had to if i had my diary…

like ‘Emily’ in L.M. Montgomery’s says there are times when I have to write…. put all the pent up thoughts into words….maybe that time the blog will be my writepad

so long…
